Ochsner to distribute about 3,000 vaccine doses at Xavier University this Friday

Friday April 9 approximately 3,000 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine appointments will be available at the Xavier University Convocation Center (Stroelitz St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70125) from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The goal of this event is to ensure that all Xavier University students, faculty and staff, as well as community members in the surrounding areas (like Gert Town, Mid City, B.W. Cooper, Hoffman Triangle, Broadmoor, Marlyville-Fontainbleau, Holly Grove, and Dixon), can receive their initial vaccine dose. Individuals, 16 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine.

The President of Xavier University , Reynold Verret said “The desire for vaccinations has gone up in our community. The availability now a challenge. What Ochsner is doing is making sure it is available in our community so we are helping the city to vaccinate as much of the population as possible.”

Appointments are preferred. Schedule your appointment now online at MyOchsner.org or call 844-888-2772! Our call center hours are Monday-Friday from 8a.m. – 5 p.m.
